If you have been granted asylum or refugee status in Spain, you have a path to Spanish nationality that is shorter than most other routes. After five years of legal residence in Spain, you can apply.
That residence needs to be legal, continuous, and immediately before your application. There is one notable exception: if you are married to a Spanish citizen, you only need one year of legal residence before applying.
When you do apply, you will need the general documentation required under article 22.4 of the Civil Code, and on top of that, a certificate or resolution from the Ministry of the Interior's asylum and refugee office confirming your status.
