If you are travelling between EU countries, the EU Digital COVID Certificate is the document that makes crossing borders quick and simple.
It proves one of three things: that you have been vaccinated against COVID-19, that you have recovered from the disease, or that you have a negative test result from the last 48 or 72 hours, depending on what the country you are entering requires.
You can still travel without it. But without the certificate, border checks tend to take longer, and you may be asked for extra tests or to quarantine.
The certificate itself is easy to get, secure, and works equally well printed on paper or shown on your phone.
